Since its establishment in 2001, A-SPINE has been dedicated to the development, design, manufacturing, and distribution of spine-related medical devices. Its comprehensive product portfolio includes spinal fixation systems, spinal implants, surgical instruments, and a range of orthopedic solutions.

2001
  • Founded and GMP plant construction began in NeiHu Technology Park, Taipei
2002
  • Company re-structured by President Life Sciences Co., Ltd.
2003
  • Passed plant site inspection and received cGMP Certificate from Dept. of Health (DOH), Executive Yuan, Taiwan.
2004
  • ISO9001 & 13485 and CE Marking approvals for spinal fixation, metal disc spacers, polymer disc spacers and instruments for spine surgeries.
2005
  • Received 2 Taipei Biotech Awards：Innovative Technology (for Vessel-X®) and Technology Commercialization (for Spinal Fixation Systems)
  • Launch of interbody fusion cages made from PEEK-Optima® Invibio.
2006
  • Received Taipei Biotech Award：Technology commercialization (PEEK cages)
  • Signed Exclusive Distribution Agreement with ulrich Medical, Germany for the spinal products , and with Biocomposites, UK for bone graft products in Taiwan market
2007
  • Vessel-X® received Taipei Biotech Award for Technology Commercialization.
  • Subsidiary company Jiezhan Medical (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. established in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China.
2008
  • Signed Partnership Agreement with ulrich Medical, Germany
2009
  • Signed Agreement with TRB CHEMEDICA, Switzerland for the exclusive distribution of sodium hyaluronate preparation Viscoseal® in Taiwan
  • Received “Partnership Award 2009” from ulrich Medical, Germany
2010
  • Entering VCF market in Taiwan with Vessel-X®
2011
  • Reorganizing of the Board of Directors with management buyout
    Dr. Por Lai was elected as Chairman
  • Received FDA 510(k) clearance for SmartLoc® Advanced Spinal Fixation System
    Signed Distribution Agreement with Chindex Medical Ltd.(Shanghai) to exclusively distribute ASA’s spinal products in China
2012
  • Launch of AVALON® Kyphoplasty Kit
  • Launch of Viscoseal® in Taiwan
  • Awarded "The 15th Rising Star Award" by Ministry of Economic Affairs, Executive Yuan, Taiwan.
2013
  • Launch of Combo® Ti/PEEK Cages and Winloc® Anterior Cervical Plate System
2014
  • Received “Good Industrial Manufacturer Award” from Taipei Industry Association
  • Completion of clinical trial and commercial launch of Combo® Ti/PEEK ACDF cages in Australia
  • Clinical trial on Redmond® ALIF Stand-alone Cages in Australia
2015
  • Launch of Redmond® ALIF Cages and PACH® Anterior lumbar Plating System in Australia
  • Received “National Innovation Award” for Combo® Ti/PEEK Hybrid Cages from Institute for Biotechnology & Medicine Industry, Taipei
2016
  • Clinical trial on Redmond® ACDF Stand-alone cages in Australia.
2017
  • Launch of Redmond® Cervical Implants in Australia.
