A-Spine
received regulatory approval from
Dept of Health, Taiwan
to market Viscoseal, a hyaluronan preparation from TRB
CHEMEDICA, Germany.
Viscoseal is
currently the first and the only hyaluronan product with
approved indications for relief of pain and promotion of
joint recovery following arthroscopy or joint lavage.
Clinical studies confirm Viscoseal promotes pain relief,
reduces swelling and improves function in patients
recovering from arthroscopy.
A-Spine signed an
Agreement with TRB CHEMEDICA, Switzerland in 2008 for
the exclusive distribution of Viscoseal in Taiwan.
Viscoseal, the first non-spine product for A-Spine, will
be commercially launched in this September.

A-Spine Asia (ASA)
entered into an agreement with Chindex Medical Limited
(CML) of Beijing, China for the distribution of ASA’s
SmartLoc®
Advanced Spinal Fixation System and Vigor PEEK Interbody
Fusion Cages in China.
The Distribution
Agreement was jointly signed on Dec. 29, 2011 at
FosunPharma headquarters in Shanghai by Mr. Ding Xiaojun,
CEO of CML and Mr. David Chang, President of ASA.

A-Spine Asia Receives FDA 510(K) Clearance for SmartLoc®
Spinal
Fixation System
A-Spine Asia announced
today that it has received 510(K) clearance from the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market the SmartLoc®
Spinal Fixation System.
It is the first
product from A-Spine Asia receiving 510(K) clearance.
SmartLoc®
is a top-loading pedicle screw spinal fixation system
intended to provide immobilization and stabilization of
thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spinal segments as an
adjunct to fusion.
Since its official
launch in 2006 till now, more than 20,000 procedures
have been performed with this system in Taiwan. For
